A Canadian Scholaship Fund And Business Case Competition For Undergraduate Students

In loving memory of Edward Allen Perry

Edward Allen Perry was a distinguished educator and business leader who dedicated his life to empowering students and professionals. As a corporate hospitality leader, organizational transformation consultant, and part-time professor, Edward taught concurrently at multiple institutions including Fairleigh Dickinson University in the USA, Universidad de Navarra in Spain, De La Salle University in the Philippines, and Seneca College, George Brown College, Centennial College, and Canadore College in Canada.

He Co-Founded with his husband, Robin, and was the CEO of the organizational transformation consulting firm, Point North Group based in Madrid, Spain. He built it to have five divisions: Consulting, Labs, Media, Publishing, and Foundation. He's held executive roles at HRS Germany, Worldhotels New York, Hilton Hotels San Francisco. He founded Cyberworld San Francisco; an intersection of technology and a gastronomic experience that gained his enterprise a cover for Time Magazine.

Edward had a multi-disciplinary academic background having a double-Baccalaureate in International Relations and German languages, an MBA, an MACP, and a Doctorate in Management. He spoke seven languages, primarily English, German and Spanish having studied in both Germany and Spain.

Together with his husband Robin, Edward established scholarships at George Brown College to support 2SLGBTQI+ student leaders. This competition honors his legacy of education, quiet leadership, and authentic self-expression by providing students with opportunities to engage in meaningful case analysis, develop critical thinking skills, and shine as their best authentic selves.

The Competition at a Glance

The Undergraduate Business Case Competition tests your aptitude in critical thinking, momentary decision-making and communicative skills with complex, real-world business scenarios.

  • Our annual day-long Undergraduate Business Case Competition will be held in-person in Downtown Toronto.
  • Participants will be competing in Teams of 2 and are required to have a Team Mentor accompanying them on competition day. The Team Mentor will not be allowed to participate in the actual development of case study solutions.
  • There will be two case studies on the day of the competition. The morning case study will be completed without access to the internet. The afternoon case study will have access to the internet. Teams will have two hours for each of the case studies to complete their recommendations.
  • The top 2 teams will each be receiving a prize award of $2,000 each.
  • Recruiters from various companies will be present and monitoring the participant's aptitude, which sets the stage for excellent Networking Opportunities.
  • Light sandwich and water/soda drink lunch will be provided for your lunch break. Lunch breaks will be staggered. Do bring your empty water bottles if you'd like to use the water fountains. Please email us food allergies you may have.
